PS3 Street Fighter IV Round 2 Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition Review
I’ve got a couple joysticks I used for both Tekken 6 & Street Fighter 4 such as this one, version 1 (white end pieces w/different artwork on top panel) Sony PS3 Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition , Hori HRAP3-SA PS3 Real Arcade Pro. 3-SA , an old school Namco arcade stick (PS1 w/a controller converter) & a Hori Tekken 6 wireless Tekken 6 Limited Edition Wireless Fight Stick Bundle . These two (round 1 & 2) are the best by far!!! While you do pay a hefty price for both, they’re mos def worth it for the weight (6+ pounds so doesn’t move around in your lap and/or on a table), arcade quality Sanwa parts & since I’ve got big hands, there’s so much room on the top so I can lay my hands on there when playing instead of an awkward position usually found in the physically smaller joysticks.
I’m actually selling the round 1 joystick (look for it on craigslist in Dallas) b/c this one looks much more stealth & cleaner due to the all black casing & more lowkey artwork on top. I was kinda embarassed to have the round 1 stick lay around in my media room (I usually put it away when not in use) however with this round 2 version, this looks fitting & upscale in my media room matching other a/v components. Yes, I know it’s just color scheme difference but that’s just me.
I got lucky b/c these are hard to find locally & out of 15 Gamestop stores witin a 50-mile radious of me, only 2 stores each had 1 in stock. If you just want a joystick that’s reliable & aren’t willing to fork over one-hundred-thirty plus dollars then I recommend getting the Tekken 6 limited edition package (w/the wireless joystick from Hori) since it’s under seventy-five dollars & includes the game also! Not the greatest joystick but there’s no discernable wireless lag & the buttons aren’t too bad. Only thing negative about that stick is that it’s VERY light (~2-3 pounds at most).
Anyway, if you’re looking for the best (mass produced) hardcore arcade joystick then this (or round 1) would be it. I would mos def recommend this product! In this case, it’s true…you get what you pay for!

Sony PS3 Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition Review
I bought mine for the regular price of 0 back in Feb, as I was one of the 1st to recognize the value of a good stick with genuine arcade parts. This stick has been a staple of my SF4 play since it arrived and although I have another stick, a Hori HRAP3 this one gets used the most by far. The weight on it it superb, the parts are sweet and I even swapped out some of the buttons to give it a different look. I will say that changing the buttons are the hardest thing I’ve encountered with this stick but that’s neither here nor there, as the stock Sanwa buttons are just about perfect. I recommend this stick to anyone serious about fighting games.

This is an outstanding controller. Very comfortable to hold and all buttons are in easy reach. It is already perfectly set up for use with the Street Fight IV & the default button configuration. Moves requiring quarter, half & full circle movements are incredibly easy do, thanks to the floating digital pad. And they can be done consistently. It comes a with handy Turbo button which makes characters like Chun-Li & E. Honda especially dangerous.
My only problem with the controller & its floating digital pad is that it may be too sensitive sometimes. For characters that require charge attacks or precise up and down movements of the digital pad for combos, the Dualshock 3/Six-axis controller is actually easier to use & more consistent.
If you have PS3 then you already have the standard controller & I highly suggest you try out the Fight Pads to get the most out of this game. It will probably come in handy for other fighting games as well. I fully intend to use this pad on Tekken.

PS3 broken, 360 OK. – Brad – nv
I purchased 2 of these pads, one for the PS3 and one for the 360. I have no complaints about the design (very reminiscent of the 6 button sega genesis/saturn controller), and in fact i wish there were more controllers designed like this. It fits comfortably in your hands and the buttons are excellent. While the d-pad may not be for everyone (it’s incredibly ‘loose’ making it easy to roll your thumb around, but is very snappy), it does it’s job. The main problem i have is the wireless connection with PS3 pad. It tends to lose signal and your character may move in a direction you may not want. I have only found that this problem occurs on the PS3 controller, which makes me wonder why they didn’t just wire it like they did with the 360 version. Overall I like the design, but there are some significant flaws which make this an item to avoid. I would recommend sticking with the standard controller for both the Playstation and Xbox, or save for a arcade stick such as the Hori EX-SE(360) or EX-SA(PS3).
Waste of Money – T. Jones –
I had bought 2 of these controllers for my PS3 because to me the PS3 controller seemed a little slower to respond to buttons being pressed. The first month with this controller was excellent. I use Vega on SF4 and has Ultra was difficult to pull off in time to hit the opponent exactly when I wanted to. The PS3 controller would just make Vega jump in the air leaving him wide open to counters but the madcatz controller seemed to cure that mistake 90% of the time. Then as expected from madcatz equipment it wasn’t working correctly. The controller was stuck in the forward position (Vega would continue to walk forward without pressing the D-pad). So since I bought 2 of them I switched to the other madcatz controller since my primary one wasn’t working. I plugged the second controller in to find out… THAT ONE DIDN’T WORK AT ALL! madcatz I’m done with you.
