PS3 Marvel vs Capcom 2 Tournament Stick Review
I can’t knock these sellers from charging over 0 for these fightsticks – capitalism, right? If the box isn’t opened you can still call it ‘new’ I suppose. But you should know that these sticks are GameStop-exclusive items that retail for 9.99. They were 9.99 before Christmas, and they were reduced afterwards. I read the previous review and decided to check the GameStops in town, and every store in town had one. Most of them had a PS3 and a 360 version as well.
I can’t say if this stick resembles the Street Fighter IV version 1 or version 2 in terms of workmanship, but it does look more ‘professional’ than the SFIV version 1 #the one with the white edges#. It does have the Sanwa buttons and joystick, and the unit is very heavy and feels very sturdy in your lap #about the same as the Xbox Racing wheel#. It is corded, but the cord is 13 Feet. It is a few feet longer than the SFIV FightPad.
The cable fits inside the casing so it doesn’t add clutter to your media room when not being used. The artwork on the top is very detailed and has a metallic sheen to it. Very sharp. I bought this stick primarily to play SF IV, but I preferred the artwork on this stick to either one of the SF ones.
As noted in other reviews, this stick does work with other fighting games like SF II HD Remix, BlazBlue, etc. I also tried it with Pacman Championship Edition… it does work, but this is a circular-motion stick and doesn’t just have a North-South and East-West axis to it. So in Pac-man it didn’t work as well as I had hoped. In the fighting games, you can’t do better.
